When schools and their teachers call on us as an Erasmus Plus service provider, the support they expect is usually logistical and linguistic. However, setting up an Erasmus European mobility program is first and foremost a human experience. And in our eyes, a human experience means total involvement! A service provider also has to deal with a lot of unforeseen events, day and night, which he has to deal with as best he can. So we’ve decided to take you behind the scenes of your Erasmus Plus provider. Let’s go for a 360° tour!

The benefits of an Erasmus Plus provider: crisis management
Remember, it wasn’t that long ago. March 2020, the world was paralyzed by what was then thought to be an epidemic. It soon becomes clear that we were facing a pandemic on a massive scale. Regardless of the dribs and drabs of government information, Mobi Trainee’s priority was to react quickly: “We had to start repatriating people as a matter of urgency. Some had just arrived, others were still on the plane! We’re talking about thousands of students,” recalls Sandra Seknagi, CEO of Mobi Trainee. Once the crisis unit had been set up, the team worked hard to find solutions that would suit everyone and reassure the various educational teams.
Mobi Trainee was also ethically aware and thus decided to refund costs incurred by schools. This decision was unique among Erasmus Plus providers. But it was a decision that made sense despite the tense economic situation that was about to set in. It should be remembered that a decline of almost “65% in international student mobility in the second half of 2019-2020 and a near-total halt in 2020-2021” were recorded in a French government report published in 2021.

At Mobi Trainee: teams with human and social convictions
“I don’t think there’s anything more satisfying than knowing that we’re helping scholarship students open up to Europe and the world,” smiles Sandra Seknagi. Year after year, semester after semester, it’s the same feeling that feeds the teams: gratitude. Thanks to scholarships offered by the Erasmus Plus program (as well as by regions, CROUS, etc.) geographically isolated students with bleak career prospects travel. “Many of our students even land a permanent contract after their work placement. And that’s the icing on the cake!” concludes our interviewee.
Behind the scenes, this means hours of work for the Erasmus Plus service provider, including evenings and weekends, to ensure that the students are in the right place. European mobility must be synonymous with fluidity, and our role as supervisors never stops. But when students write great stories, nothing is more stimulating for us.
As you can see, the advantages of an Erasmus Plus provider go far beyond logistical support.
