Social responsibility is at the heart of Mobi Trainee’s approach. On a day-to-day basis, our teams are committed to what we call ‘a passionate profession’. And all this is coupled with a strong social impact. The heart of our work? Constant investment. Let’s take a look at the human side of an Erasmus Plus service provider.
Human support from an Erasmus Plus service provider: an attentive ear
Behind the collective imagination of the student or trainee at ease in society and making the most of their Erasmus Plus mobility, there is another reality. That of apprehension and culture shock.
Navigating between cultures is not easy for everyone. Emma, a member of the Mobi Trainee team, recounts her day-to-day work as a mediator: ‘As an Erasmus Plus provider, we’re always confronted with cultural differences when students go on a mobility program. One of our most important tasks is the pre-mobility briefing. We have a meeting with them to prepare them mentally for what they’re about to experience. Often, these are students who have never been away from home or come from rural backgrounds, so they’re not necessarily used to living in a big city and fending for themselves on a daily basis.’

Between link and binder
In addition to the culture shock, after leaving you have to deal with all the problems associated with mobility. After all, life’s ups and downs follow the student out of his or her usual environment.
Erasmus Plus human support also means a permanent link. Both with the teaching staff and the tutors in the host country. Léopoldine, a Mobi Trainee employee, confides in us about this real-time link: ‘It’s already happened that students have experienced bereavement in their families. This is of course very delicate. Teachers ask us to ensure that host families and tutors are kept informed, so that they understand that if the student is not well, there is an explanation behind it.’ Circular communication, then, which nevertheless relies on great discretion. ‘We try to keep it a secret, not to go into details. The idea is to show that behind a difficult attitude, there’s more going on than just the student’s good will.’
In other words, the human accompaniment of an Erasmus Plus provider is fundamental to everyone’s well-being. It acts as a link and social connector.
Mobi Trainee, a vehicle for launching careers
At the end of the internship, Mobi Trainee keeps in touch with the teachers to find out how the internship went. It’s time for a debriefing ‘to see what we can improve for next time’, explains Léopoldine. ‘We especially like to debrief the young people afterwards, because we’re not on site, so we can miss out on information about mobility,’ Emma continues.
Their greatest source of pride? A student who, in 2022, landed a permanent contract after his mobility. Emma also mentions the case of a company in Dublin. The company was so pleased with the young people’s work that it expressed a desire to hire them. Beyond these professional successes, it’s the social dimension that drives the teams on a daily basis. Emma tells us about a project she led last year, a collaboration with teachers in a retirement home in Rome: ‘I saw that after the mobility, they created a partnership with this school, and that photos were posted on their networks. They thanked Mobi Trainee…’
As soon as an Erasmus Plus exchange is part of a committed approach, the teams are even more satisfied: ‘I’m currently managing a project for a special educator in a center for the intellectually disabled in Seville. To me, these are the kinds of projects that are great because they have a real social side. In these environments, the exchange is even more human’, sums up Emma. As you can see, support from an Erasmus Plus service provider like Mobi Trainee is a 360° awakening to the international dimension.
