An internship in a European country\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

If you decide to make an Erasmus+ mobility, you need to have a European health insurance card. As a French student, you can ask for this card to you health insurance company, such as Ameli.fr. You will receive this card two or three weeks after ordering it. This card is valid for two years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Is your Erasmus+ mobility imminent?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Is your mobility happening soon? Don\u2019t worry, your student insurance will send you a provisional certificate that has a three-month validity. This certificate will have the same utility as the European health insurance card.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Internships outside Europe\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

If you choose a non-European country you will certainly have to pay all your medical expenses in advance an you will be refunded once you are back to France. Keep properly your receipts and health certificates. In the United States, for example, medical treatments are extremely expensive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Keep in mind that you will be refunded according to french prices. This means that if you have paid 5\u20ac for a box of Paracetamol in a foreign country, you will be refunded in France according to the french price for this same box.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The particular case of Quebec\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

The french students who go to Quebec may profit of a publicly provided social protection thanks to the agreements between France and Quebec. The agreement concerning social protection claims that French students who are staying in Quebec can have the same rights as Quebeckers, without having to pay any further contribution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To acquire this protection, ask your health insurance company for a document that proves the acceptation of those rights. Once in Quebec you will have to register to the local health insurance management organism in order to obtain the coverage to pay for your medical fees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
